Hopkins" width="125" height="188" align="left" hspace="5px" style="margin-right: 5px;" vspace="5px" /> Our mission at Fisher House, Inc is to provide caring and compassionate  home away from home management of military hospitality houses for family members of patients receiving medical treatment in the San Antonio area at no cost to family members. We do this with warm hearts and understanding at the individual level. The staff at Fisher House, Inc puts emphasis on what we call the  Wow factor. We truly desire our guests to think  Wow when viewing facilities for the frst time during initial check-in. We also desire our guests to think  Wow when departing the Fisher Houses in regard to service and compassion, and a staff which cares for every single need. The entire staff at Fisher House, Inc will continue to look for ways to improve our ability to make the stay of our military member and their families stress-free and as comfortable as possible. </p> <p> During this year, we have replaced the old and warped window blinds in all houses. The exterior doors all around Fisher House I and II are now energy-effcient. Fisher House III has a new push button door opener for wheel chair accessibility and disabled guests. All Fisher Houses will soon receive energy-effcient windows to replace the old single pane windows. New windows have been installed in House I. The old tile foors in two of our houses have been replaced with new fresh looking tile to match the kitchen and living room décor. The windows, doors and replacement tile foor project would not be possible without the diligent efforts from the members of the 502 Air Base Wing, Civil Engineers and Contracting. </p> <p> I would like to welcome two new members of the Fisher House, Inc. Board of Directors, Major General Roger Burg (USAF, Retired) and Major General Patrick Scully (USA, Retired). Roger Burg and Patrick Scully contribute a lot of military and leadership experience to our already seasoned Board of Directors. Fisher House Inc. is blessed to have such an active Board of Directors and infuential leaders from the community on our team. Thank you to all the members of the Fisher House Inc. Board of Directors for all their guidance. The Board of Directors volunteer time is instrumental in our ability to provide a home away from home for our military members and their families. Also new to our team is Cathy Guertin. Cathy has served our country for almost 30 years as a military spouse and is now our new Volunteer Manager. We look forward to Cathy taking our volunteer program to new levels. </p> <p> Our vital mission would Our vital mission would not be possible without the dedicated efforts of our donors and volunteers. Improvement of our facilities and cost of day-to-day operations is constant and never-ending. We are very grateful for all the contributions from our donors during a time of economic uncertainty.
